Google surprised its Pixel fans by announcing significant updates for the Pixel 8 series amidst the buzz surrounding the new Samsung Galaxy S24 and OnePlus 12 releases.

One exciting update is the introduction of a captivating Mint color option for both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro models.

It offers a vibrant yet subtle look and has been praised as one of the best color choices in recent Pixel history. The Mint color option is exclusively available on the Google Store and Google Fi with 128GB storage.

But that's not all. Google also released the January 2024 Feature Drop for Pixel 8 users, which includes four notable enhancements.

First, there's the Circle to Search feature, which lets users perform Google searches by circling any item on their phone screens. This feature was first seen on the Galaxy S24 series but is now available on Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro devices.

Second, there's Magic Compose in Messages, which uses advanced AI technology to allow users to craft messages in different styles, from professional to Shakespearean. This enhances the messaging experience on Pixel devices.

Next up is Photomoji, a feature that allows users to turn personal photos into expressive stickers or emoji reactions in Google Messages. It's not limited to the Pixel 8 series but is also available on Pixel devices from Pixel 3a onwards.

Lastly, the Pixel 8 Pro's temperature sensor now has additional functionality, enabling users to conveniently measure body temperature. By using the Thermometer app and saving the results in the Fitbit app, users can easily keep track of their health using their Pixel devices.

The January 2024 Feature Drop also brings enhancements for a wider range of devices. Quick Share, previously announced by Google, is now available for Android devices running Android 6.0 or newer, Chromebooks with Chrome OS version 91 or later, and 64-bit Windows 10 or newer. Additionally, Seamless Audio Switching now supports Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2, making audio transitions across Pixel devices seamless.

With these updates, Google continues to improve the Pixel experience by offering users a range of innovative features and enhancements across their product lineup.
